Mrs Margaret Gibbs received the prestigious Bishop’s Medal from Father Tony on Saturday, 11th August 2018 for her many years of service as a catechist. St Etheldreda’s parents are grateful to Margaret for taking children’s liturgy for so many years and serving our families so faithfully.
Father Totet, Parish Priest of St John’s Siem Reap and our twin parish in Prek Toal, came to visit East Anglia and stayed with Fr Tony for a few days, enjoying time with parishioners and the Cambodia Crew who visit and support projects in Cambodia every two years.
Parishioners were invited to share something to eat and drink with Fr Totet after each of our three Masses.
At the end of each Mass, Fr Totet shared this beautiful Buddhist prayer: The suffering of the world has been deep. From this suffering comes great compassion. Great compassion makes a peaceful person. A peaceful person makes a peaceful family. A peaceful family makes a peaceful community. A peaceful community makes a peaceful society. A peaceful society makes a peaceful nation. A peaceful nation makes a peaceful world. May all beings live in happiness and peace. Amen.
